Elly Howse


Elly has been the Senior Tutor at St Andrew’s College since the beginning of 2014, having served as Dean of Students from 2011-2013. She completed her BA Honours (First Class) at the University in Sydney in 2011, looking at consumer culture and young women in Australia.

Elly has worked at the University of Sydney in a variety of roles since 2013. Since mid-2014, she has been the Senior Project Officer for a health promotion project targeting University staff and students, focusing on physical activity, healthy eating and mental wellbeing. In June 2015 Elly presented two papers at the International Conference on Health Promoting Universities and Colleges, held at the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus, Canada. Since mid-2015, Elly has also been a Board Member of Rape & Domestic Violence Services Australia (formerly the NSW Rape Crisis Centre) and the Full Stop Foundation, committed to eliminating violence against women in Australia.

In 2016 Elly is continuing her work in health promotion at the University of Sydney and has begun part-time PhD studies looking at how universities can promote or hinder the health of young adults. She will be presenting a paper on this at the 2016 Annual Conference of the Australian Health Promotion Association from 19-22 June in Perth.
