William McNamara is a 5th year medical student at the University of New South Wales, a keen researcher in all things orthopaedics and sports medicine, a budding entrepreneur, and an elite sprinter.
Needless to say, on commencement as a fResher at St Andrew’s College in 2012, William has been heavily involved in student life. Highlights include coaching Rosebowl and Rawson Athletics and competing in Rawson Athletics every year. In 2015, William described college as “superphosphate for life” – much to Wayne’s delight and has enjoyed his appointment to Dean of Students in mid-2015.
William regularly competes around the country with highlights including having scalped several Olympians in his time, racing the world champion for the 400m in 2013, and being the fastest university student in the country over 400m for the past 3 years. This year he will compete at the Olympic Trials in early April.
In 2014 William began his first research project, there beginning his passion for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
