The College provides a supportive and caring environment for University of Sydney students undertaking graduate studies. The graduate community at St Andrew’s is diverse, with students from various fields, backgrounds and interests.
Graduate residents are members of the Senior Common Room, and contribute greatly to the intellectual life of the College. Events including 3 Minute Thesis and Senior Common Room Discussions are held in College, giving graduates the opportunity to present their thesis or area of research to an audience comprised of fellow students and academics.
Accommodation is situated within separate buildings, away from undergraduate rooms, providing a peaceful and productive environment for study. Students can enjoy the use of facilities throughout both the College and the university. There are also numerous opportunities for graduate residents to become tutors within the College’s academic program, a convenient way to earn money during their studies.
Post Graduate Research Residential Scholarships
St Andrew’s aims to encourage more research post-graduate to reside in College. Scholarships may be offered to students undertaking research masters and post doctoral studies. Academics may also apply.

- The St Andrew’s academic community
- Collegiate social gatherings
- Other aspects of College life
Applicants may also be asked to attend a short interview with the Principal.
Regular tutoring and/or mentoring in scholars’ area of expertise is a condition of scholarship.
