Masterclasses in Opera Conducting

St Andrew’s College is delighted to present a three-day opera conducting workshop in partnership with Opera Australia, Penicka-Smith Arts & Event Management and St Andrew’s College Centre for Education. This is a rare opportunity to work with a highly experienced and passionate teacher in Carlo Montanaro, and to develop your skills conducting some of the mainstays of the operatic repertoire with an expert in the field.
The course includes a masterclass on technique, suitable for both beginners to established conductors seeking to refine their skills, as well as providing podium time with feedback to intermediate and advanced conductors. The advanced classes will have a particular focus on interpreting and conducting Italian operatic repertoire. All candidates are welcome to audit each session, and auditing is also open to singers, repetiteurs, and anyone else with an interest in the class material.
