Scholarships

St Andrew’s College is a welcoming and inclusive community. We award up to $2 million in scholarships annually, and around half of our students receive at least one scholarship. Due to high demand, we encourage all prospective students to submit an application as soon as possible. Further information on each scholarship can be found below.

Sporting Scholarships

Applicants are not required to submit applications for sporting scholarships. They are awarded in collaboration with the Elite Athletes Program (University of Sydney).

St Andrew’s Scholars Program

The College’s most substantial scholarships are awarded through our St Andrew’s Scholars Program.

Up to three St Andrew’s Scholarships (full fee relief) are awarded each year. 

Creative Arts / Public Speaking Scholarships

The College offers a variety of creative arts scholarships. Students are obligated to complete, or participate in, activities related to their scholarship in order to fulfil the requirements. Scholarships available are:

– Major Residential Music Scholarship
– Choral Scholarship
– Convenor of Chamber Music Scholarship
– Convenor of Jazz and Contemporary Music Scholarship
– Keyboard Accompanist Scholarship
– Instrumental Scholarship
– Piping Scholarship
– Cultural Project Scholarship (including drama, oration, visual art, etc)
– Scott West Organ Scholarship

Means-Tested Scholarships (Bursaries)

Applications for the 2023 academic year open on 1 July 2022

The College offers many means-tested scholarships (also known as bursaries) each year. These are awarded to meritorious students who lack the financial means to otherwise be able to come to College.

Non-Residential Music Scholarships

The College offers full scholarships for places in its Non-Residential Program. To be eligible for these scholarships, students must be high-performing musicians, whether vocalists, instrumentalists or composers.

GradReady GAMSAT Merit Scholarships

GradReady is proud to award one student residing at St Andrew’s College a GradReady GAMSAT®Attendance (Comprehensive) Course each year. The scholarship is designed for prospective medical students and provides them with comprehensive preparation for the Graduate Medical Schools Admission Test (GAMSAT®). Please click here for more details on the course.

GradReady is an education technology company aimed at making learning more effective and engaging. GradReady has helped over 6,000 students prepare for the GAMSAT® exam since 2010. Griffiths GAMSAT Review Scholarship

Griffiths GAMSAT Review is a medical education company which provides resources for students undertaking the Graduate Medical School Admissions Test and to help students get into medical school. To learn more click here and for resources for GAMSAT please click here.

There is one scholarship available each year to students at St Andrew’s College consisting of free enrollment to our course. This is open to any current St Andrew’s resident.

All-Round / Academic Merit Scholarships

The College offers all-round merit scholarships to students who have demonstrated a high level of academic, leadership and extra-curricular potential. The amount is at the Principal’s discretion but generally ranges from $2,000 to $10,000.

Postgraduate Research Scholarships

The College offers a number of postgraduate research scholarships each year. These scholarships are worth up to $7,000 per year. Prospective applicants must apply in writing detailing how they would contribute to the life of the College, and attach a recent copy of their CV and academic transcript.

Indigenous Student Scholarships

The College offers up to ten scholarships to Indigenous applicants each year. The exact amount is awarded on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us if you would like further information.
