New Councillors for St Andrew’s College Council

St Andrew’s College is pleased to announce two new Councillors have been appointed to the College Council from October 2022 to fill recent vacancies. Congratulations to Jeremy Hoffman and Reverend Thomas Wall.

Chair of St Andrew’s College Council, Sasha Kovic (Fr 2005) said:

I’m thrilled to welcome both Jeremy and Thomas to our Council.

Jeremy will be the new Chair of the Operations Committee and has been appointed based on his long tenure as the SACAS Treasurer and skills developed from his day job running an accounting firm.

Thomas is new to our community and will bring a fresh perspective to Council. Thomas wears two hats, as an Ordained Minister and an engineer, and will join our Major Works Committee to help peer review the implementation of the Harper Master Plan.

Reverend Thomas Wall

Thomas grew up on Sydney’s lower North Shore and studied Mechanical Engineering at UTS. He then spent 10 years designing and project managing large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects in the air conditioning industry.

After moving to Forster with his family and enjoying the surf, sun and sand, he felt called to ministry, so he returned to Sydney to undertake a Theology degree to become a church minister. Thomas has since served in Presbyterian parishes in Corowa and Surry Hills, and currently ministers at Hunter Baillie Presbyterian Church in Annandale.

Thomas has previously served on The Scots College Council, Presbyterian Youth Council and is also involved in lecturing over in Cambodia at the Phnom Penh Bible College.

When not behind a pulpit on a Sunday, he can be found running around a hockey field whenever he can. Having played competitive hockey for over 20 years including a number of representative teams, he wishes he could play more, but balancing work and leisure can be a bit difficult! Thomas is also a keen cartoonist and enjoys playing music for pleasure whenever the chance arises. Thomas also has a habit of acquiring old cars to fix up which doesn’t make him very popular with the family or the finances.

Thomas lives in Baulkham Hills with his wife Lesley and children. Life at home is busy with three kids at university and two who are still at school.

Jeremy Hoffman

Jeremy is a Chartered Accountant and the Co-Founder of HK Partners, an advisory firm offering tax, financial, wealth management and consultancy services to a broad range of private clients.

Jeremy grew up on a farm approximately 50km north of Albury, arriving at St Andrew’s College in 2003 to commence a Bachelor of Commerce at Sydney University. During his three years at college, Jeremy represented College in both rugby and cricket. In his final year, he served on the House Committee along with running the Highlander Bar.

Jeremy commenced his accounting career in 2005 whilst in his final year at college, gaining employment within the audit division of HLB Mann Judd, with further stints in the consulting/business services and wealth management divisions. He attained his Chartered Accountant designation in 2008 whilst working at HLB.

Jeremy has been involved with the St Andrew’s College Alumni Society since 2011, serving as treasurer for many of those years. He currently lives in Paddington with his wife and three children.
