10 June 2010On Thursday evening, 10 June, St Andrew’s College had the pleasure of hosting an exclusive piano recital by internationally acclaimed pianist, Konstantin Shamray.
Mr Shamray delighted his audience with a superb performance of Partita No 4 in D Major by J S Bach, 12 Etudes Op 25 and Ballades No3 Op47 & No4 Op52 by F Chopin.
Guests included the Chancellor of the University of Sydney, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, Principal Wayne Erickson and Ms Debra Maher, St Andrew’s College Foundation Chairman Dr Robert Wines and wife Barbara, and Mr Ron Overs the maker of the College’s 2008 Series 200 Overs Grand Piano.
Konstantin Shamray was the winner of the 2008 Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia and has performed in concert halls in Russia Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland, Austria, Czech Republic, USA and Australia. He has performed with international orchestras including the Prague and Moscow Philharmonic Orchestras and the Marinsky and Sydney Symphony Orchestras. CDs of his work have been recorded in Holland and the Czech Republic
